"I am taking this opportunity to give my personal experience about Ms. Angela Sojung Lee’s teaching and flute classes. It has been a very great pleasure to be her student for several years. During this time, I have come to know Ms. Lee as an extremely dedicated, passionate, and caring teacher.
Her weekly classes are enjoyable because of her organized schedule, as well as her endless encouragement and patience. Ms. Lee always comes prepared for every class, with a detailed plan for which warm-up exercises, pieces, and duets to introduce. She goes above and beyond by giving effective personal feedback and adjusting the class to whatever areas I need to work on most. For example, when she notices I am having trouble with keeping an even tone, she focuses on long tone exercises to help me improve. Throughout every lesson, Ms. Lee offers constructive feedback, continued encouragement, and a positive outlook. Whenever I have difficulty with a certain technique or practicing regularly, she motivates me to continue and expand my knowledge of music.
Ms. Lee is also extremely supportive outside of just her lessons, and she actively helps me develop a passion for music. When I talked to her about organising a flute duet with a classmate to volunteer at long-term care facilities, Ms. Lee helped me practice dozens of different duets with her. This helped me immensely, as I got more comfortable playing with someone else and was able to directly apply her lessons to my project. As a teacher, she deeply understands the importance of helping the wider community.
I am very grateful to have had the chance to be Ms.Lee’s student. There is no doubt that anyone would be lucky to learn from her."
